You bore the burden of my weight

So I would have a chance to be

You suffered greatly

So that I could take my first breath

You have given of yourself

So that I may grow

You watched tenderly

As I embarked upon my first steps

You stood by unconditionally

As I learned about life

You have gazed in wonder

At the life you brought forth

Now I return that gaze

With love in my eyes

For I am blessed

By the magic you posses

Truly you are

The Giver of Life
